An initial arrest order was made by the tribunal on Friday, September 18, 2015, after Saraki failed to appear before it after being accused of corruption by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The Senate President again failed to appear at the continuation of proceedings today, September 21, despite an undertaking by his lawyer, JB Daudu that he would be produced.
The tribunal has rejected Saraki’s bid to appeal against the hearing and has ruled that he must be arrested and brought before it by 10am tomorrow, September 22.
The CCB had, on September 11, filed a charge sheet against the Senate President accusing him of anticipatory declaration of assets and failure to declare assets acquired while he was governor of Kwara State.
Meanwhile, the Presidency has denied having a hand in Saraki’s ordeal and urged him to appear before the tribunal and defend himself.
