A Lagos based couple has been arrested for allegedly
stabbing their neighbour during an argument over fowls
A 35-year-old man, Charles Christopher, and his
31-year-old wife, Oluseyi, has been arrested by the police in Lagos for
allegedly stabbing their neighbour, one Glory Ubi, in the chest following an argument about a fowl in their compound.
The
incident, according to the police report, happened on March 16, at
Pasheda Awoyaya Street, in the Ibeju Lekki area of the state, when a
simple disagreement degenerated into a fight and Ubi, a businesswoman was stabbed in the process.
The
victim, in her statement to the police, said she was washing some
dishes when she sighted Charles attacking her chickens and breaking
their legs.
"I saw him breaking the legs of my
chickens for no reason and I confronted him, but instead of apologizing, he shouted at me and stabbed me in the chest.
I
went to report the matter to the police and he was arrested. I then
went to treat myself, but when I returned home, his wife came after me
with a blade, which she used to cut me in the breast.
I started bleeding profusely. She threw stones into my room and broke my television set in the process."
But
Oluseyi denied the allegation, saying that when Ubi returned from the
hospital after the brawl with her husband, she began to make trouble
with her.
"We were both fighting but I don’t
know how she came about the cut on her breast and I also did not throw
stones into her house or broke her television set."
