Daily Words of Inspiration –
Spend It All
Spend It All!
What if you had $100,000 in the
bank? What would you do with it? Who would you spend it on? What would you buy?
What would you give?
$100,000 is a lot of money, but it
can also go faster than we might think.
How about this…what if at the end of
every day the $100,000 was taken away and each morning you received a new lump
sum of $100,000. Every morning of every day you received a new $100,000 to
spend during that day and that day only. You could never save it. Would you use
all of it?
Each day we have just over 86,000
seconds. We never get to save any. And each day we get presented with a new
86,000 seconds. The same thinking applies.
What are we spending our time on?
Who are we giving our time to?
What are we doing to push ourselves
forward?
What are we doing that is holding us
back?
Of course we need time to rest and
recharge. But let’s not confuse rest with the fear or worry of getting started.
In regard to being productive:
Who can help us with this project?
How can I cut the steps of this
process in half?
What person or software can I use to
lighten the load?
What is something I won’t do?
What deadlines have I set?
Productivity and busy work do not
lead to happiness alone, but progress does. Knowing we did all we can…does.
Once our time is spent, we never get
it back. If we’ve wasted time in the past, forgive yourself. Move on. And have
fun!
Focus on the gift that every second
is. Focus on the time that is right in front of you and nail it! Remember, you
cannot make a brand new start but you can make a brand new ending.
